New Year New Books
It's the exciting start to a new year of reading! My TBR shelf is full, and my pen is poised over my reading journal in anticipation. I hope to surpass last year's reading goal, and I'm already off to a good start. Here is my list of 5 books in 2025 I'm excited for.
Sunrise on the Reaping was such a surprise to me when I heard this book was coming out. I'm beyond excited to finally read Haymitch's story.
My first read of 2025 was Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli. The next book in The Crimson Moth duology, Rebel Witch, is due for publication Feb 18th, and it went straight to my 2025 anticipated reads list. I'm thrilled that I saved Heartless Hunter as my first book of the year leaving me with only one month to wait until book two comes out.
I finished The Tainted Cup in December, and enjoyed the fantasy, murder/mystery for it's unique characters and interesting storyline so much I immediately added A Drop of Corruption, the next book in the series, to my list. It's expected to be published in April.
My absolute favorite read of the year was The Spellshop, a cozy, romantasy I could not put down. When I saw The Enchanted Greenhouse would be out this year, set in the same world, with it's beautiful sprayed edges, I knew I would be first in line to snatch it right up! Expected publication date is July.
Last but definitely not least, is Onyx Storm. Coming out January 21st. Yarros announced that we will have the choice between two beautiful editions with sprayed edges, artwork, and different covers.
