Introducing Mrs. Collins by Rachel Parris

Published by Little Brown, and Company Nov 4, 2025

I have always loved Pride & Prejudice so I immediately jumped at the chance to return to the world. Charlotte was a minor character in the original but in this story she takes center stage. She knows she doesn't have many prospects and when Mr. Collins, who Elizabeth Bennet doesn't find favorable as a prospect at all, proposes to Charlotte she accepts. Charlotte is not particularly attracted to him, or enamored in any way shape or form, but he offers her a comfortable life with a home of her own to tend. After they marry, she begins to wonder if she made the right choice.

It was such a joy being back in the Jane Austen universe with beloved characters and seeing where their stories lead. Parris did a wonderful job transporting us back. This is my first time reading Parris' work and I am very much looking forward to reading more. This book felt like a long overdue visit with beloved friends. A perfect read for a cozy evening by the fireplace.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown & Company for the opportunity to read and review this EARC
