My very first book of 2025 was a fantastic read! I'm so happy to kick off the new reading year with Heartless Hunter. Rune is a witch vigilante on a mission to save fellow witches from death and torture. Her best friend, Alex, is the kind of friend every girl needs in her life. He is such an endearing, lovable character. His brother, Gideon the heartless witch hunter, is determined to find, and purging every last witch, including the Crimson Moth, Rune's secret identity, who has outwitted him at every turn.

Rune decides to play a deadly game of cat and mouse with Gideon by attempting to court him. Her plan is to marry him so she can gain valuable information to help save every witch captured. What could possibly go wrong? She could get caught and killed, or worse, fall in love. This is an enemies to lovers story with a love triangle. Prepare to have your heart torn out, or skip it altogether if those tropes aren't your thing.

I listened to the audiobook version and I loved the narrator! Grace Gray might just be my favorite narrator so far. She does an excellent job voicing both female and male characters.

This is a duology, and the next book is due to be released Feb of 2025. Definitely on my must-reads list.
